This study did not bone-press, which means it reads roughly a centimetre lower than a bone-pressed study would on the same men. Comparisons against bone-pressed countries are partly comparing rulers.

How it sat in the game
India is #24 of the 24 countries in the rotation. That is 1.88 cm below the list median of 12.77 cm.
Both comparisons are against a two-dozen-country list assembled by which studies happen to exist, not by any sampling of the world. And the spread between individual men inside India is several times wider than the gap between any two countries here, so none of this describes anyone.
