This study didn't record a bone-pressed measurement, so it reads roughly a centimetre lower than a bone-pressed study of the same men would. Compare this row against a bone-pressed one and part of what you're seeing is the ruler.

This is by far the largest sample on the site: 14,597 measurements taken from the health records of men attending an andrology consultation. That scale is also its limitation. The population divides into routine reproductive-health screening, sexual dysfunction, and other conditions — a clinic sample, not a cross-section of the country, and men who present at an andrology clinic are not a random draw from it. The figure is a median rather than a mean, because the measurements were not normally distributed.

Vietnam ranks #5 of the 24 countries in the game. That is 1.9 cm above the median of this list (12.77 cm).

Both of those comparisons are against a list of two dozen countries chosen by which studies exist, not by any sampling of the world. Treat the rank as a fact about this dataset rather than a fact about the planet.
